Brian Blain is known to CIDI-FM listeners as the composer of “Terrace Inn” a song that has received a lot of airplay on the station because of the fond memories many listeners have of that old dancehall in Bondville. Brian also made a guest appearance with Oliver Klaus at their annual fundraiser for the station last December.

Brian is an established singer-songwriter in Toronto and his appearance in Knowlton will kick-off a tour of Quebec to promote his third CD, “New Folk Blues”.

The choir, “Choeur Classique de l’Estrie”, has been part of the Eastern Townships cultural landscape since 1991. Its founder, Denis St-Pierre, established the choir as a high-level group of local singers. Their mission is to share the joy of singing by presenting masterpieces written by some of the world’s greatest composers. Since September 2002, Maestro François Panneton has been its director.

What’s striking about the Choeur Classique de l’Estrie is its size. With as many as 60 singers, the choir can be powerful and moving in ways that lends itself to interpreting some of the great choral, oratorio and symphonic musical works of all times. Other distinct qualities are: intonation, flexibility, musicality and precision.

Don’t miss a special presentation with twelve singers from the Choeur Classiques de l’Estrie under the direction of François Panneton this coming Sunday, March 27 at Radio Village Hall from 2pm to 4pm. Admission is $10 and $5 for RCM members.

An escape that will make you discover dreamy landscapes where 40 artists and artisans have established their studios in and around the villages of Knowlton, Sutton, West Brome, Bolton and Mansonville. Soothing for eye and soul, this opportunity is yours to discover and take in from July 10th to 19th, every day from 10am to 5pm.
You are cordially invited to attend the official opening that will take place Friday the 9th of July from 5 to 7 pm at the Arts Sutton Gallery at 7, Academy St, in Sutton, Quebec. All the Tour des Arts participants will be present and happy to greet you!

In and around the picturesque villages of Knowlton, Sutton, Bolton and Mansonville…

For nine days, the meandering country roads will take you to amazing new hidden places where you will be amazed with the vitality and eclectic creativity that lurks in our beautiful region. From studio to studio, you will find an abundant selection of arts and crafts, from painting, watercolor, sculpture to folk art, and fine crafts such as jewelry making, ceramics, woodworking and stained glass.

Among the 40 artists, four new faces
This year the Tour offers 4 new participants:
Marie Madore (painting and etching) Sutton,
Sean O’Riordain (painting) Dunkin,
Daniel Hache (wood sculpture and totems) Bolton
Monique Beaudry (jewel knobs) Knowlton.

After a short hiatus, the Tour also is welcoming back, Jack Walker (folk art) Bolton and Francine Denault (Paintings) Bolton.

These newcomers will join the other talented artists you may already have discovered on previous Tour des Arts visits and they are:
Myriam Bardoul, Pina Macku, Anke van Ginhoven, Almut Ellinghaus, Brigite Normandin, Louise Andrée Roberge, Christina Steingruber, Christiane Roy, Eira Thomas, Nicole Côté, Stanley Lake, Potton Valley Quilters, Jany Fournier, Robin Badger, Robert Chartier, Irma & Roger Côté, Rhonda Price, Judy Mullins, Anne Johnston, Mark Zimmerl, John Fowles,
Claude De Gaspé Alleyn, Stéphane Bingen, Vicky Tansey, Michelle Lalonde, Craig Skinner, Jacinthe Comeau, Richard Bélanger, Caroline Lanctôt-Benoit, Gordon Ladd, Amélie Desjardins, Murielle Faille, John Murphy et John Rollit.

The after Tour…
If the days spent on the Tour promise to be full, the evenings will not disappoint. The visitors will have a vast selection of entertaining events, such as poetry readings, music, and theatre and, much more.
For more information, the complete list of evening events is listed on the backside of the flyer. We suggest you also read up about our restaurants and accommodations section of the flyer and we promise you will be in awe of the hospitality, joie de vivre and refinement these establishments have to offer.

Our sponsors, our true partners…
The work of our artists and artisans is not the only reason the Tour des Arts has been a success for 22 consecutive years. We owe a great deal to our sponsors that have been our true partners and that continue to believe that art is tourism’s best friend.
